For the joy of all peoples

A gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, kingdom-minded church is a body of believers that is active outside of it's four walls. We desire to be a church that desires for all people to be saved from every tribe, language, nation, and people. As Acts 1:8 shows us, this should include our homes, our community, our state and nation, and our world. We understand at Cornerstone that we won't be able to do everything, and we won't even be able to do a lot of things well, but we can do a few things with excellence. We desire to not be busy, but to be diligent in the areas God has led us and gave us influence. Below you will find local, and international ways that we are involved is bringing the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Fighting for life with the gospel

Our church partners with the Pregnancy Help Center here in Dover. They have opportunities for washing, folding and sorting laundry; organizing stock; and counseling. We also are active during abortion days at planned parenthood. Our church is working with other believers in the community to plead with women not to have an abortion. We offer all kinds of resources. You can stand and pray with us, you can preach the gospel, you can counsel and talk with families, you can provide childcare while others go out, you can provide water or lunch etc. Join us!

East Dover Elementary

We have formed an awesome relationship with our friends across the street. There are multiple ways to get involved at EDE. We are looking for breakfast and lunch buddies, nursing home craft time, mentors, teacher aids, librarian aids, and those who would even adopt a class. There are also various needs that come up throughout the year. Find a way to plug in no matter what kind of time you have available.

For more information contact Michelle Briele or Tina Risner.

EVangelism & Apologetics

We have a desire to increase our gospel presence in the community. From street evangelism, to starting conversations about the gospel on campuses, malls, boardwalks, our daily lives etc. We have members meeting with Roman Catholics, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Muslims, Atheists etc. Join us! Also stayed tuned for our next Evangelism & Worldview training.

Global missions

Our church supports numerous missionaries, the cooperative program, the Southern Baptist Convention, and gives to the Annie Armstrong & Lottie Moon Offering. We currently have missionaries serving in Indonesia and we have partnered with Craig McClure and Joe Salvagni in the Dominican Republic for the last 4 years.

There are always opportunities to get involved in mission work outside our nation. Short-term trips to full-time. We know that God has been awakening a desire in many people in our congregation to being prepared for a life dedicated to global missions. We want to equip, support, and send missionaries.  If you believe the Lord is leading you in this direction and opening doors please let us know.

We have also gone on many short-term mission trips. If you have a desire to go on a short-term mission trip or lead a trip please let us know. Over the last 4 years we have had over 35 people go on a short term trip, we have built two waterhouses, two latrines, laid cement floors in homes, and poured into missionaries and churches in the DR.
