In Acts 2 we see that a people are being marked off. They are repenting and being baptized. They are devoting themselves to the apostles teaching. They share fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. They call themselves “believers” and share everything in common, including their possessions and goods as people have needs. This is the beginning of the church. And it started at a prayer meeting. God wants his people to be known and marked off. He wants a "spiritual line" between the church and the world. (Romans 12:1-2) You need a body of Christ to be the body of Christ. You need a family of God to be the family of God. Once you are chosen by God in Christ, you are called into the body too. Choose the Father and the Son and you have to choose the whole family – which you do through a local church.

We encourage all of our members to take our 102 class on Biblical Servanthood. We believe that each follower of Christ is called into a community, and it is in the context of this community that they grow and serve. The purpose of this class is to show biblically what it means to be a servant as a member of Christ's body. We look at this through:

  • Our identity as individuals in Christ
  • Our identity in the church
  • Our identity in the world
  • Cornerstone's leadership
  • Cornerstone's community
  • Cornerstone's Mission
  • Biblical servanthood

The goal is that all of our members would go through this class and become active in using their gifts for the building up of the body, and the souls of those in our city.
