Cornerstone Church is blessed with a tremendous amount of talent that you wouldn't necessarily expect at a church that is not a mega church. With an award winning writer and numerous people who have been involved in drama all their life we offer a top of the line program that only continues to grow.
Our first originial Christmas play was a production called "Dover: A Christmas Story." It was a story about a man (Hayden) who was running away from his family, home, finances and problems with an idea to become a hitchhiker. Before he left he made a deal with an old neighbor to work on various projects around the house so he could have some cash flow for his trip. However, Frank (the neighbor) got to speak to Hayden for an hour every day as part of the deal about the Gospel. This funny, faith filled story reached out to many hearts in the community.
As the sets got bigger, and the choir grew; as the music became more powerful and animals, lights and special effects were added, we created a new story. Christmas 2011 CC premiered "A Gift to Remember." This was a story of a young women who was moving to her new job and found herself stranded in Dover after a car accident. She met a family who became her family. This trip showed quite a bit of purpose in her life where she was forced to face discomfort from her past.
In 2012 we were blessed to have been able to perform "The Loockerman Letter". This story took place in Dover, DE at Christmas time. All of Dover was preparing for the opening of The Christmas Time Capsule, which had been sealed for sixty years. But when the Malcolm’s were asked to be guests of honor at the ceremony, they found out that The Christmas of 1952 held a greater gift for them then they could have ever expected.
In 2013 we presented a musical called The Mollywood Tree and in 2014, Finding Sergio. In 2015 we presented A Little of That From Me, Another Dover Christmas Story and in 2016, Welcome to Castlewood.
